Finding strength, one small choice at a time.

I’m not chasing perfection. I’m simply trying to feel better today than I did yesterday.

I’ve learned that lasting change doesn’t happen through one big decision—it happens through the small choices we make over and over again.

A few years ago, running became one of the ways I began rebuilding my health and confidence. During a challenging season of life, I set a bigger goal, lost 50 pounds, completed several half marathons, and crossed the finish line of my first full marathon. More than the number on the scale, what stayed with me was learning what I was capable of when I committed to small, consistent choices.

That marathon became about much more than the miles. It taught me lessons I still carry with me today—the importance of showing up, trusting the process, and remembering that every journey has its own pace.

I wrote more about that experience and the lessons I learned after crossing that finish line: After the Finish Line: What My First Marathon Taught Me.

Then life changed.

Like so many people, COVID disrupted my routines. I stepped away from running, lost some of the endurance I had worked hard to build, and found myself needing to begin again.

And that’s okay.

This next chapter isn’t about going backward or trying to recreate the past. It’s about moving forward—one small step at a time.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that health is about more than exercise. It’s about the everyday things that help us feel our best: movement, nutrition, sleep, recovery, stress, and the choices that support the life we want to live.

That’s part of what led me to pay closer attention to what my body actually needs—experimenting with small changes, learning what helps and what doesn’t, and figuring out what genuinely supports how I want to feel.

Part of that process has also been learning more about my skin and overall wellness instead of simply guessing what I need.

One tool that’s become part of that process is the Vital Health facial wellness scanner—a quick, free scan that gives personalized wellness insights I can track over time.

Not because I’ve found a perfect formula, but because I believe taking better care of ourselves is always worth pursuing.

I’m sharing this journey honestly—the things that help, the things that don’t, and the small habits that make a difference along the way.

Because thriving isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about becoming more fully yourself.

My Thrive Rule

I don’t believe getting healthy means starting over.

I believe it means paying attention, making adjustments, and giving myself permission to begin again as many times as needed.

The goal isn’t to chase who I was before.

The goal is to show up for myself today—making choices that support the life I want to live, one small step at a time.

Taking care of my body doesn’t happen in isolation. The way I feel is connected to the everyday choices I make—from how I move, to how I rest, to how I nourish myself.

I’m always learning how to create habits that support my health, my energy, and the way I want to show up each day.
