Giving My RV a Fresh Start

The RV has always been one of my favorite ways to explore.

It has taken me on road trips, weekend adventures, and more memories than I ever expected when I first bought it.

But after years of use, it was starting to show some wear.

Especially the ceiling.

Finding the Problem

I had noticed some staining around the skylight area and had already tried caulking it, hoping that would solve the problem.

It helped for a while, but eventually it became clear that the issue was bigger than just needing a little more sealant.

The water damage meant the skylight area needed attention — and once I started looking closer, I realized this wasn’t going to be a quick fix.

Taking It Apart

What started as a repair quickly turned into a much bigger project.

The skylight came out. The damaged areas had to be removed. Cabinets came down. The ceiling came apart.

There is always a point in a project where everything looks worse before it gets better.

This was definitely one of those moments.

Putting It Back Together

Slowly, piece by piece, it started coming back together.

The roof was resealed. The skylight was replaced. The ceiling was rebuilt.

I removed some of the old cabinetry, updated the space, and added wallpaper to give the inside a fresh look.

The bedroom area got a refresh too.

It wasn’t a brand-new RV. It wasn’t perfect. But it felt like mine again.

The whole project took several weeks, but by the end of June, it is ready.

And the timing couldn’t have been better, because in just a few days, I will be taking it back out on the road.

A freshly repaired RV. A puppy who has grown quite a bit since his first trip.

And hopefully a lot more adventures ahead.
